Founded by Tsunejiro Asano, the first president, Mikasa started its history as a store called Mikasa Shoten.
Mikasa undertook one challenge after another to create a business that would match what we call a "store of technology." During the process, Mikasa successfully built relationships of trust with its customers, and it still keeps those relationships alive as precious assets, together with a wealth of accumulated knowledge and expertise.
|Sep. 1921||Tsunejiro Asano, the first president, founded Mikasa Shoten, a limited partnership company, with a capital of 5,000 yen, and started the manufacturing and sales of surveying instruments, drawing instruments, weather instruments, and weighing and measuring instruments at 2-8, Takara-cho, Kyobashi-ku, Tokyo-shi. He also started an agency business for Ginza Tamaya Shoten.|
|May 1938||Moved the head office to 4-1, Muromachi, Nihonbashi-ku, Tokyo-shi.|
